Deanna's Birthday Doll

Today we, my mom and siblings, celebrated my sister Deanna's birthday. I'll be nice and not post her age, if she wants that out there she can do it on her own blog. I'm the youngest of 4 girls and one brother stuck in the middle of us. All are very talented individuals, Deanna is a weaver. This was a big birthday for her so I knew that I wanted to create a doll for her. She has in the past commented that she would like one of my fairy dolls, but when I started thinking of what I wanted to make for her birthday I knew I needed to make a goddess doll. Deanna is also an Aquarius, so water needed to be a part of the sculpt.

Deanna is the ultimate profectionist, with an uncanny eye for detail and color combination's. I have learned so much from her and have always appreciated her insight and thoughts about my dolls.

So to my dear sister I hope you enjoy your goddess doll, and realize that every woman deserves to feel like a goddess. Love ya always!

Sister Date Doll

My sisters and I have been having periodic "Sister Dates" they are comprised of doing some craft/art projects together. It's always a great time, laughing and joking and feeding off each others talents. Over a period of I think three sister dates, we made doll bodies, wigs and dressed these 1920 replica boudoir porcelain dolls. I finally got a picture taken of mine. Not a very good quality photo (I took it with my phone and the lighting was not good) but I at least wanted to mark that I had finished her. She is still sitting in my bedroom. I really quite like her.

Hazy Days of Winter

For the past few weeks Utah has had some of the worst air quality in the nation. As a runner this makes it difficult... do I run in the pollution and risk breathing all the bad air, or do I banish myself to run of the treadmill and save my lungs but risk my mental stability. I for one have been running on the treadmill... this has not made happy running times for me. I did get one reprieve, today I went snowshoeing with my running friend and our husbands.
Once you get up above the pollution and in the mountains it is fantastic! Blue sky, sunshine, warmer temps and sparkling snow! Ahhh it was good for my soul to see the blue sky.
We are supposed to get storms this up coming week, lets hope it will clean out our air!

The blue at the top of the pictures I posted is not the sky. I took them while in my car, so that is the top of my windshield.
